The Ice Factory of Central Florida

The Ice Factory of Central Florida is happy to host youth hockey games over the Labor Day weekend!  These games are FREE to watch! 

Due to the annual OYHA tournament, the following schedule changes have been made:

Saturday, Sept 4th

... freestyle figure skating sessions will end at 8:45am

... our public skate session from 1pm to 4pm is unchanged

... Learn to Skate lessons will start at 1pm instead of 12 noon

... there are NO Learn to Play Hockey classes Saturday

... Family night public skate will start on the studio rink at 7pm and move to the main rink at the conclusion of the youth hockey game around 8:15

Sunday, September 5th

... our afternoon public skate from 1pm to 3pm will be exclusively on the studio rink

... speed skating will take place from 5 to 7 pm.

Monday, Labor Day, September 6th

... Public skate ALL DAY from 8-4, only $15.  Includes ALL YOU CAN EAT FREE PIZZA from 11am to 1pm!

The Ice Factory is now being Managed by Bill Fauver who has moved to Florida from Nashville, Tennessee to assume this position. Mr. Fauver also is the Skating Director for the Ice Factory and brings over twenty-five years of teaching and performing experience to this area.

He is a two time US Olympic Team Member and Five time World Team Member who represented the United States in many International Competitions. After turning pro in 1984 he and his partner joined The John Curry Company where they were the featured pairs team performing in theaters and venues around the World. From there they joined Torvill & Dean’s World Tour and Stars on Ice where they remained until they retired from touring.

Bill and LeaAnn created “Exploring Artistry” a skating seminar that toured concurrently with Stars on Ice in some cities and brought other Stars on Ice cast members into the events as well. From that event he and his wife Laura Sanders developed “Star Seminars” which toured with Frank Carroll as a guest coach for several years. Bill was the Director of Pairs at the University of Delaware, the Broadmoor World Arena as well as IWSA in Indianapolis before moving to Nashville in 1994. Along with Laura they have put together a comprehensive skating program called A-Game Skating School, (formerly named Southern Ice Skate School), that has consistently produced National and International Senior competitors.

While involved in figure skating Bill has also been managing facilities and events for many years. He has had facility management positions in Delaware, Colorado, Nashville and now here in Florida. He has produced skating shows for the USFS National Championships as well as many other events including the “Ice Extravaganza” featuring a sixty five member orchestra performing on the ice.  He has managed and directed USFS events from Regionals through Nationals as well as the Pacific/Midwestern Section Synchronized Championships with 2,500 competitors.

One of his goals is to create at the Ice Factory a USFS based skating program from the Basic Skills through Elite skater. He will bring new classes and programs to the rink to better serve the skaters and their goals, while he works to restructure the venue into a well organize training facility.
