COVID-19 Updates

COVID-19 General Practices

For the safety of our guests and staff, we have implemented the following guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We ask that all guests follow these measures and best practices.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please not enter and return once you are feeling well.
  • Please maintain 6ft of distance for safe social distancing while waiting in any line.
  • Everyone entering will be subject to body temperature check. Those with temperatures of 100.4 or higher, will not be permitted.
  • Please wash hands often, and use hand sanitizer provided through the building.
  • Please let a staff member know if you are feeling unwell while inside.
  • Face masks are highly encouraged
  • Please follow standard respiratory etiquette
    • Cough and sneeze into elbow
    • Use and throw away tissues
    • Avoid touching face
    • Wash hands after using a tissue, using the restroom and at regular intervals.
    • Use hand sanitizer often
  • Please enter and exit the ice through the appropriate door. One is for entrance, another for exit. Exiting for intermissions or end of session, all doors are considered an exit.
What are we doing to prevent the spread once inside?
  • Doors are propped open for all user accessible and non-private areas to prevent door handle usage.
  • Touch points are disinfected regularly throughout the day and between sessions.
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are provided for your use.
  • Tables are spaced to promote social distancing.
  • We have implemented reduced capacity for Public skating and other events as recommended by local officials.
  • Our staff are checked for symptoms and temperature at the beginning of each shift.
  • Our staff are required to wear face covering at all times.

Update as of May 15th

Ice Factory Guest,

As the state slowly begins the process of reopening, we are still in process of completing major repairs to our ice floor. We will have a much better skating surface once this work is complete.

We are planning for a June 1st reopening.

We hope you and your family are as excited as we are to get back on the ice.

Ice Factory Management

Update as of April 26th, 2020

Ice Factory Guests,

We hope you and your family are safe and doing well in this unprecedented time. We know that you are as eager to get on the ice as we are! Our management team has been working tirelessly on preparing the Ice Factory for our eventual reopening.

In this downtime we've been hard at work making significant updates to our facility and our operations. We hope to provide you with an amazing, safe and comfortable skating experience as we move forward into the new "normal" of our post COVID-19 world. We think you'll be very excited to see our improvements.

We'd like to announce and welcome our new General Manager, Keith Smith. Many of our guests may remember Keith from many years ago in his role as Assistant General Manager. Keith's attention to detail and experience with ice arenas is sure to bring about an enhanced experience for all of our guests. If you have any questions for him, please contact him at Keith@icefactory.com. Keith is in the process of moving from California back to Florida, and looking forward to working with Bill (Operations Manager), Paula (Skating Director) and Tiffany (Assistant).

The biggest question, when will the Ice Factory re-open? The management team has been working diligently with leaders in the ice rink industry and policy makers, both nationally and locally to understand when we can safely reopen. At this point, without further guidance from local and state officials, we can't confirm a set date for reopening. We are just as eager as you are to get back on the ice!

Once we have more information on the reopening phases for Osceola county, and potential dates, we will update you.

Once we reopen, please be prepared for some changes to our operation in order to provide a safe environment for our guest and staff.

Some of these changes include:

  • Temperature check at the front door
  • Lower occupancy limits for our public skating, learn to skate classes and more
  • Changes to our ice schedule to accommodate lower occupancy needs
    • Public skating, lesson and game times may be adjusted over the next few months as we progress in stepped reopening
  • Changes to program structures
  • Locker room use policies
  • Changed layout of the building, we've spaced and removed some seating to encourage social distancing.
  • Reduced Front Desk and Snack Bar operating hours

On a positive note, you will see some new, exciting programs coming soon! We will have another announcement soon on our website and social media on scheduling and program changes.

Thank you for your continued support in The Ice Factory, we hope to see you soon!
