Ice Factory First Steps and Learn to Play Hockey program is a non-competitive teaching program that follows the USA Hockey, American Development Model (ADM).
Players can join the Learn to Play program at anytime. All participants must register with USA Hockey before starting. USA Hockey registration is free for players age 6 and younger.
Once players successfully complete the required skills in the beginner Learn-to-Play program, they are able to join the Ice Factory in house Recreational League.
This program provides 8 weeks of introductory hockey lessons for ages 5-10 who have no prior hockey experience. You receive a full bag of hockey protective equipment, skates and instruction for 8 weeks with our USA hockey certified coaches.
Children with their own hockey equipment and/or those who play/have played organized hockey in the past are ineligible. Those who have already completed the Lightning Learn to Play/First Steps Program are also ineligible.

For the best results, and the quickest development, we recommend skaters to participate in some learn to skate classes before their first class for First Steps. This will give them the basic fundamentals of skating.
We recommend that players continue with Learn to Skate classes in conjunction with Learn to Play programs. This will give them the best and fast track their player development.
Learn to Skate offers a hockey tract program. Skaters first learn the fundamentals of skating. Once they are proficient in the fundamentals, they can progress into hockey skating specific classes. Here they learn the skills required to become a strong hockey player. Remember, skating is 90% of the game!

Once a player has completed First Steps or Lightning Made and/or Learn to Skate, or already has sufficient skating skills they can enroll in Learn-to-Play.
Learn-to-Play 101 consists of players with little hockey experience.
Learn-to-Play 201 consist of players who have already completed the Learn-to-Play 101 class or have more experience. For both levels, drills will appropriate for their skill development.
Our program is designed for the ultimate in flexibility for your family. The program is based on an 8 class package. Think of this package like an 8 class punch card. No start and end dates to worry about. Your class package is valid for 12 weeks from purchase. Need to take a week off for family vacation? No problem, pick back up the next week.

Ice Factory Learn to Play 101 and 201 class package passes are for the enrolled player only, are non-transferable, hold no cash value and are non-refundable. Class packages provide for 8 classes for 12 weeks from date of purchase. After 12 weeks the available class passes will expire.
Considering skating is 90% of hockey! For the best possible experience and results, we highly recommend players to participate in the our Learn to Skate USA program.
Learn to Skate USA teaches the FUN-damentals of skating skills. Beginners will start in our Snowplow Sam (aged 6 or under) or Basic 1 classes. Once skaters progress and complete the Basic 2 level, they may participate in the learn to skate hockey program.
Learn to Skate Hockey works on developing hockey specific skating skills. It is recommended to take this class in conjunction with Learn to Play classes.
Learn to Play Hockey classes will enhance some skating skill, but it's focus is teaching the foundation of the game of hockey. Learn to Skate focuses on the skating skills.
The learn to skate program is for all ages and can work with those having zero on-ice experience to those that can already skate but are looking for advanced skating skills.
